pet store stuff.

Hey Ya'll, how have i been?. oh pretty good i guess. can't complain. i'm working with a wonderful guy at this pet store. he doesn't feed me but it's still good to work for him. hey, i guess i just learned a little lesson about myself. i'd rather have good working conditions than free food. i had to go back to the stinky, smelly chatsworth store this week (35-50 minutes away). i'd been at the glorious, wonderful silverlake store (5-7 minutes away) and it ruled. i'm goin to work at both stores now. compromise. i can live with that. back to the pet store.

the pups get groomed in a van outside. a crazy hollywood type drives up and grooms the dogs then hangs out a speaks sarcastically to the dogs like they're real assholes or something . Example,"oh sure, just sit there!" she also makes a strange noise to the dogs that sounds like an old fashioned telephone ring. also, in all her stories her friends are 90. this is the story she told to the owner of the store.

"do you know who moosie dryer is? well, he was a big star in the 70's. he was on like, laugh in and a bunch of other shows. anyway, he had this poor old yorky, sweetest thing. he was about 15 years old and he had some bowel problems and joint problems. he could barely walk and they were afraid they might have to put him down but they found a water therapist that would work with him. she was $15,000! well, one day i was driving to their house and when i got out of the car a saw a dead bird on the road. now, usually i don't look at dead animals because it makes me depressed but for some reason i got an overwhelming sense of calm and peace. i went over and looked at this bird and it was the most beautiful bird i had ever seen. it looked so peaceful. then i noticed he was pointed right at moosie's front door and i knew their dog was going to be ok. i knocked on moosie's door and i told him, " rosko's going to be fine, a life has been exchanged."

i was reeling at this story because i couldn't believe this lunacy. but, if a life had been exchanged, a life had been exchanged.

I can't figure out if that's totally whacked or somewhat sound theology. I'll think twice next time I turn my nose up at road kill, I'll tell you that.
